This artwork was largely inspired by Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights, more specifically; the precarious feeling evoked by the novel. The way in which something can be at the same time; sacred, soft, and beautiful; in addition to feeling dangerous, heart-breaking, and painful. As the work progressed, a playful energy entered the stage; and T.S Eliot’s Owl and the Pussy Cat became part of the saga. Two love stories; two completely different emotions evoked, and yet part of the same human experience. We need to know the depths, to understand the heights; and to know that these precious energies in our lives each have their purpose and sacredness. When we see these variations moving in unity to create a greater and deeper truth; we understand that only when (as Homer would advise) we visualize loosing those precious things, can we truly appreciate them when they are still around.
